not sure what your budget is but I would look around the North Hills area - tons of options there. Some suggestions: Anderson Flats and Midtown Green

For something further north, The Seasons at Umstead is a great option (good location close to Umstead State Park)

What part of North Raleigh? I liked living at Jones Grant Urban Flats, but the Inman Park apartments are nice too for something less expensive. They have easy access to 440.

Apartments around Lake Lynn are reasonable and the area is quiet.

While Jones Grant are nice and the area is improving (thanks to Trader Joe's, Wegmans etc) there still is a lot of crime there.

The safest part is probably north of 540 and west of Capital. That is where I would search if I was a single woman wanting to be in North Raleigh.

I never felt unsafe living at that apartment complex. It's closed and requires key access for entrance. I wouldn't hang out at Bahama Breeze though.

Um, why?

Not disagreeing, but curious.

After that shooting in the parking lot we have only gone once, but even before that it felt marginally dodgy at night in that parking lot. I prefer it in daylight and well before the dinner crowd, it gets too crowded and noisy. They also changed the menu and things we liked on it are gone now.

If I was in your shoes, I'd probably look around Lake Lynn- being able to go to that lake all the time would be awesome. I am not sure how new they are though or if you care about that.

There are some nice new ones by Crabtree mall I know some people live at who like, if you are more of a mall than outdoor person.
