Hii Everyone!

So I have done research but always like to hear more of the locals perspective on where to live.
I am married and 28, plan on trying for kids by next year and love a good suburb vibe with things to do!

Things I am looking for:

- Younger Couples & Families area
- 5 min from Grocery store, shopping, etc.
- Has a decent amount of things to do
- Around 250-300K housing,
- Safe area
- Good school district for soon future children
- Suburb Area, but prefer within 25 min or less to downtown Raleigh

Which town would you choose that could best fit that criteria? Or could you give a breakdown of what you think of each suburb town in Raleigh?

SO MUCH APPRECIATED <3

Thank you.

What kind of home are you looking for? Are you open to townhomes? 250-300k, 25 min to downtown, and safe area are going to be difficult for a single fam.

Fuquay maybe? That's going to be around 30-40 min to DT Raleigh without traffic.

If you are ok with NE Raleigh, my neighborhood and those around fits most of those requirements. SFH in the 250-270 range depending on # of bedrooms. Most of the homes selling recently all have new roofs and some will also have new HVAC in my subdivision.

Look up homes within 1 mile of Lowe's Foods off Lousiburg Rd (401).

Going up to 300k might be a little better area, maybe North Raleigh near Durant nature park or Falls River area.

Id rather stay away from townhomes and shoot for a single family home.

I have heard decent about wake forest, fuquay, holly springs, and apex.

Holly Springs and Apex are out of the price range for SFH.

Fuquay may be do-able, not sure about Wake Forest.

Holly Springs isn't. https://www.redfin.com/NC/Apex/106-S.../home/41267563 https://www.redfin.com/NC/Holly-Spri.../home/41312426

But in any case OP shouldn't worry about the town per se. I'd actually look for something in NE Raleigh beyond 540. https://www.redfin.com/NC/Raleigh/10.../home/41248278

What's your reasoning for the proximity to Downtown Raleigh? Is it a daily commute or just because?

Trying to figure out your "must haves" versus the "nice to have".

You're in a tough price point with your list of wants there.

So Downtown Raleigh was not a must, just a place I like to visit.

I honestly would be okay if it was 30ish minutes away, so definitely not a must have!

The whole area is suburbs. Most of it is 5 minutes from shopping. The entire county is on the same school district.
