I dropped off my absentee ballot at the Durham Board of Elections today and I waited for less than 5 min.

Very long line with no parking at my HS voting place. Will try another day. Just drove on by. Plenty of time tho. Halloween is the last day. Folks said to avoid weekends as there are usually crowds.

The Durham County "Tracker" site said the estimated wait time was about 11 minutes at the polling place closest to me. It was actually closer to 45 but all in all not too bad.

I’m waiting for the day itself. Early voting has that cash in the mail look about it I’d rather not risk it.

I voted in Wake Forest and it took me four and a half hours. I got in line at 7:30am as parking was not the easiest. The line wrapped around the building.

Another building should have been used as the North Regional Center only had 7 spots to fill in the ballots so that is why it took so long. If I had known that I would have gone elsewhere.

The curbside was taking a lot longer though.

After just seeing WTVD at 430, I’m very relieved my family did absentee. Long lines, saw many ppl masks off noses, even lady they interviewed had mask off nose! I just don’t need that stress on top of all other stress. I’m very happy with my family’s experience with absentee. The ballottrax site was extremely helpful.

Damn that is the local early spot for us. I guess we'll see what lines are like next week.

I just don't get the point of early voting. With a very limited number of polling places open of course the lines will be long. On election day, all the polling places will be open, spreading the crowd. I'm waiting for election day to roll around.

How does one handle bathroom breaks with a wait of 4 plus hours? Do you tap people on the shoulder and say "I'll be right back, hold my spot?" Then you have to remember where you were waiting.

BTW, does anyone know if Wake County tracks vote times like Durham? I did google.

This tells me what I wanted to know about one location. Maybe I'll go to Lynn Road Community Center instead.

In Raleigh, at the Green Road Community Center, lines wrapped around the building.
