Do you have any idea what equipment (router) you have? How old is it?
Modem is 4 years old. Got it when we moved into our house. I use a Ubiquity Amplifi as a my router, wifi access point, etc.. Wifi on the modem is disabled.

I'm not sure but I think that's what they gave me. Router is at home at the moment.
I have an Arris all in one router/modem. I use a timer to turn it off around 3am every night for a minute. This seems to have mostly eliminated any issues I have had with outages during the day.
My friend who lives near Charleston, West Virginia told me recently that Frontier is notorious there for their godawful service. I guess that's why the company is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to absolve itself of 10,000,000,000 dollars in debt.
This is an excellent follow-up article about Frontier Communications.
"Frontier's mismanagement of prior federal funding through the Broadband Technology Opportunity Fund program, resulting in $4.7 million in funds repaid to the federal government for improper use, raises significant questions about their ability to manage federal funds of this magnitude," Capito wrote in her letter.
The coronavirus pandemic has shown us how vitally important broadband is in our daily lives which is why I hope President-elect Biden carefully considers who the next FCC Chairman will be.
Since getting a new router, service has been rock solid.
That's always good to hear.
Chiming in from my home in Garner. I use AT&T and I am under their "AT&T Internet 100" plan. I average 130Mbps down and around the same up. I have the Arris Gateway/Router in bedroom and an extender in my living room as my ranch house is longer than it is wide. It is just I in my house so the only devices are the ones I put on the network or the ones that use my WiFi Guest Network. I use a Roku player to stream Netflix/Hulu/Disney+ and some Youtube subscriptions along with NHK Japan and Sky News. It is rare that the streaming picture drops below HD quality. Other than that the only TV I receive is OTA which from my location gives me about 22 different channels. I have had coworkers try to get me to get Fiber but I don't need anything more than what I have. I doubt I will ever sign up again for cable or satellite as they don't offer me anything I can't get currently.

Would you please run a speed test and share your results here?
