My family and I will be relocating to NC (Zebulon) in the summer for my husbands job. This will be the first time I move and don't have a job. I am worried it will be difficult to meet people being in such small town. Does anyone have any suggestions on places/ways to meet other mom's in the area?
We have a 3 year old and a 4 year old and we've moved twice (and getting ready for a third time) since they were born. I've always joined MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) groups. They are usually held at local churches and they have a speaker, time to discuss the speaker and then time to make a craft while your children are cared for in the nursery (although different groups arrange their meetings in different ways). They generally break you into small groups and sometimes you might get together for a playdate or a ladies night out. I don't know if this appeals to you at all, but if it does, you can go to mops.org and find a group near you.
Try The Moms Club International International MOMS Club I have been a member for years, and I first joined for the same reason. I had relocated, had a baby a week later, and needed to find friends. It was a fabulous resource!!
If that doesn't work, you can come visit me! Just moved to Zebulon and I am in heaven here! You can contact me off line and we can talk more if you like. You will enjoy it here in the "country" and will quickly understand why Zebulon truly is the "Town of Friendly People". Welcome!
