Daniels Middle changed to Oberlin Middle without much fanfare. I'm sure it will be the same.

Plenty people always referred to it as The Village for years anyway. It’s not a big deal.

Beyond absurd. The people that erase history will just move on to the next target. What a joke. The Cameron’s are and always have been a very fine lot of people that have done more for this state and area than any of these complaining snowflakes ever will.

That's the thing. All of the offspring of a family tree for generations could have been Mother Teresa. But if a single great great great grandfather was a slave owner... scorched earth and any good along the way is erased.

Bingo. It is beyond senseless. I have no problem with contextualization. This has been fairly well know for a long time by natives. Shocking that a wealthy landowner/planter in the South pre 1865 owned slaves. Shocking I tell you. Is Mordecai next? The list is long and it is never enough for the far left/media/Antifa/BLM.

I'm glad it didn't go as The Village. You know people will add nouns to have fun with it. The Village People, The Village Idiot, no we aren't the The Villages of Florida.

At least the Cowboy from The Village People was a Raleigh boy. Born here and attended Enloe. Randy Jones.

Exactly what I was going to say. Anytime I talk about Cameron Village, I always refer to it as the village. So do most of the people that I know that are from this area.

I have a friend that named her son Cameron AFTER Cameron Village. Stupid.

Born and raised here and never say the village nor does anyone that I know/grew up with. 55 years old. And I grew up going there and still do weekly or more.

Randy was in my senior class. We all knew he would end up doing something special
