Close family are looking to gather for a 'we all made it alive outta 2020,' brunch and are looking for a place to pickup a nice brunch meal. One of the suggestions was for a place called 'simply crepes,' in raleigh. Sister saw menu on instagram but no one we know has actually eaten there, and we are wary b/c of some experiences where the pickup food did not match expectations from past experiences in the restaurants themselves. Can anyone can vouch for their pickup menus? Older folks still don't want to go out. Thanks in advance.
Oh boy...before Covid wife and I went here a bit. It was never that great- the service or the crepes. We kept getting suckered back in by their BOGO free deal- even became a joke "oh we're not going again" "wait let's give it another shot".
Advice to you is if you go there or anywhere, get there BEFORE the food is ready- and be ready to zoom it home. Nothing worse than cold takeout. Also, maybe just expect hey its takeout in Covid it might not be the BEST.
I haven't dined there in a year but have always had good experiences. I'm not sure how the food would travel but that could depend on what was ordered and how close you live.
We have been thinking of going to Simply Crepes when we start dining out again.
convinced sister to pass on pickup (yeah, I agree it prob won't travel well/timing), and we're gonna go with sarah's empanadas frozen that we can cook ourselves... happy to see from website it is still open...
