Hi all! Looking for advice for a potential relocation for my family and I. It would be my family of 4 (wife, 2 kids 8&4) my siblings/spouse family (2 kids similar ages) and my retired parents.

Currently my wife’s brother is in Holly Springs. Ideally we would want to be all near each other within a relative short commute from one another, close enough for the grandparents to see the kids often and near my BIL. My wife/I and my sibling/spouse would need jobs in the insurance, marketing, nutrition and energy fields.

Schools would be important for us as well!

My parents/sibling would ideally like to be near the beach but not near New Bern (no offense). My wife and I would rather be more inland. The housing budgets would be in the mid $300k-$400k range. We would like to be near some nice shopping areas but not have the major store be the Big Red types.

From what I saw the Wilmington/Jacksonville area is the closest beach area?

Any help/advice is appreciated!

I'm confused....the Triangle is 2 hours from the closest beach area....you know this, yes? So you want to live here and the retired people want to live near the coast? There are tons of beaches here going from SC border all the way up to the Outer Banks.

It's pretty common for families to all move here - is anyone able to transfer their job or are you starting from scratch?

Hi. I’m not familiar with the Triangle. We would be starting from scratch.

The Triangle is the area loosely defined by Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill. I know you said you have a family member in Holly Springs...have you any familiarity with NC at all???

Most likely referring to a "Big Box" store.

Sure. Just like everyone else considering a relocation... it's about the job you can have lined up.
With the entourage you expect to have... that means a solid well paying job from the get go.

Once you have that job secured THEN you can start to look for what housing options are available...
within a reasonable proximity to THAT job... within your budget limits.
