Following up on an earlier thread I posted about relocating from Chicago, as I think we have narrowed our focus now and have a much more targeted inquiry... Any recommendations for family-friendly, luxury townhome/apartment communities in Cary? Ideally we'd like to find a luxury rental community that also has a playground, plenty of kids, decent-to-good school zone, etc. (Although the latter probably isn't too much of a factor, as I think we'd send our kid to private school for the first year.) I know all of this can be a tough combo to find, so just want to the throw the idea out and see if anyone has suggestions. Price isn't a factor. Thanks!

your child is 3, right?

you can likely find a nice townhouse in a neighborhood that includes a pool and some playground.

Bradford probably fits your bill. It's 2013 and amenity-laden.

Yeah, we did see the Bradford but wasn’t sure on the story behind that - trendy, new, upscale development for high-income, single professionals? Or more of a mix of demographics including young families. I know in Chicago, the “hottest” places are typically the ones single professionals flock to.

You are talking about Cary, dude. The probability of single professionals flocking it is probably pretty darn low.

Cubby doesn't know better yet. Cubby, by and large the single young-ish professionals live in downtown Raleigh, Downtown Durham, and I suppose as close to RTP (far NW Cary/Morrisville) as they can.

It would be almost funny to see what the top 10 bars/nightclubs in Cary are that might attract the youth.

From the Bradford ....

Doherty's Irish Pub (closes at 11)
Parkway Tavern - midnight
Tribeca Tavern - hoo boy, 9 pm!
Tazza Kitchen - another 9 pm
Back 9 Pub - now this one does get a little wild, stays open until 2

Bradford:

Close to Cary Greenway system, and kids park on Davis Drive. You'll walk past a Bojangles to get to the park!

Great take-out, ready-to-cook meals at walk-to Publix.

Wegmans a couple miles north for much more of the same, great non-staple food stuff!

Grocers on 3 corners nearby
