I am doing a small DIY project of a patio. I need gravel and sand. I don't want to get it delivered as I don't really have anywhere for them to dump it (I have a steep driveway) and probably don't need as their minimum delivery.

But buying the bags of gravel and sand at home depot is so much more expensive ($4.25 bag for .5 cubic ft) vs. $40 for 27 cubic feet at somewhere like Atlantic Mulch and I need a pick up truck.

Is there somewhere local that I can put all my seats down in my minivan and put a tarp down or similar and just load some cheap bulk sand and gravel in the back of my minivan? Or bring my own plastic bins and fill up with sand and gravel?

Then I can get it out of my minivan at my leisure without having someone dump a pile on my grass or in the street (if I was getting it delivered).

Thanks for any help!

Godwin Sand and Gravel on W. Hargett St. Raleigh used to see by the shovel full. I don’t know if they’re still there or not. Check garden centers too for “by the shovel”
