Are there any hotels in the area where you can just stay there and enjoy the activities? Are there any hotels with a waterslide and poolside entertainment?

Sounds like the beach to me!
There is a waterpark area called Silver Lake that my kids love.

I second Vicki's vote for Silver Lake Water Park! We were there 3x last August when we moved here and are thinking about getting a summer membership there. There is kiddie area for toddlers that is roped/netted off so they can't get into the deeper water.....and then there is the deeper areas for older kids with slides, diving boards into the lake(at various lake depths...all the way to 10-12 feet) and also a HUGE water slide that meanders through the woods into the lake. There is a beach, snack-bar, water boats etc. Its a very family-friendly atmosphere and never crowded when we were there...even on a Sunday.
We prefer it to a pool-club for 2 reasons: cost(its cheaper) and you have much more room to spread out as its a lake-type atmosphere with a beach.

But Silver Lake does not have a hotel does it? Isn't the OP looking for a hotel with a pool/waterslide? I am not aware of any in the Triangle area. The beach, esp. Myrtle may have some.

There are hotels where you can eat very well and enjoy the spa and have enough to do that you don't want to leave for a weekend (The Umstead and Fearrington come to mind), but I don't know of any that are destinations for the pool/waterslide. There are quite a few in Myrtle Beach that have pools/waterslides/lazy rivers and most folks visiting NC or SC and looking for those amenities just go straight to the beach, so there isn't really a market for those types of hotels in Raleigh. For pure pool/waterslide entertainment for a day there is also Emerald Pointe in Greensboro.
