RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Fidelity Investments is adding another 500 jobs at its Triangle campus and adding additional business capabilities, the company announced today.

The jobs are being added to “support continued customer growth and interactions,” the company says, and hiring “is happening immediately.”

“The 500 jobs will be part of a new business function for Fidelity Investments’ portfolio in North Carolina, which until now, has focused on technology that supports all company business lines, as well as customer service for 401(k) and other workplace clients,” Fidelity said. “The company notes that candidates do not need to be a licensed financial professional to be hired.”

I hope they build some homes for their employees to live in! We have a housing shortage, in cases anyone hasn't noticed!

Yes, and hopefully the newly built housing will be more ecologically responsible and not more of the reckless sprawl that is racing the planet.

Ive had to go to bar for Durham with family who is trying to get me to move back to DC and I’ve used all the jobs from big companies coming to Durham as great evidence. Just glad I have more to work with.

It's going to be at their RTP campus, though that wasn't necessarily called out in the article.

Yes. Actually there were four buildings there. The original BNR building was redesignated NC0, and around 1999 three new buildings were added (NC1 and NC2 that connected to NC0, and NC3 a standalone).

If you knew where to look in the parking lot, you can see where core samples were drilled for NC4 and NC5. But the planning for those stopped when the bubble broke in 2000.
