Yea I do use WeChat as every Chinese does! However, WeChat groups are joined by invitation only. Which means, there has to be someone in the group to invite me to join in the group. You see the dilemma.. I know nobody who can invite me..

Thanks for your advice and believe it or not I've tried. I add local professionals in my network like crazy. But when I send Hi, rarely do they reply. Those who replied showed no interested in casual talk let alone hanging out. People on LinkedIn are just expecting work relevant messages and professional networking. Unfortunately it just doesn't work this way.

Rather than directly messaging, try posting on LinkedIn some personal/professional stories.
You may find that you get more reaction and replies.
