People come on here all the time asking for the best places to live for families or a particular age group. You are personally choosing to believe that people believe that something is offensive that in reality nobody really cares about and I can’t help you with that. I also don’t know what the beliefs of the Wake County school system has to do with myself or the general public. I do believe that our lives are more fulfilling when we are able to interact with a wide variety of people but if you don’t want to, then you do you!

I completely disagree, but we're both entitled to our opinions.

And the beliefs of WCPSS do affect the general public because, well, they're the public school system. If your kid was being foced to move from the school and friends that they know and love because the school board decided that it wasn't best for you and your family to live around other families like your own, then I'm thinking you'd probably be upset.

This thread is one of the worst. It's like a few people who are known to do this chose to enter a room full of other people, let out a particularly horrendous fart, and walk away only to come back and do it again.

OP, I hope you are able to find some Chinese friends. I feel like MeetUp might be the way to go.

I live in OC so most of my neighbors seem to be Asian, but I don't necessarily say I have to live right next to Asians. But, it's nice to not be the only one sometimes, especially these times. Flip side is in most of my school years I was the only Asian kid.

do you live in Hillsborough? That's the only area of Orange County with a sizeable Asian population I can think of.

I disagree also. If you want to start a thread asking, "I want to find a place in the Triangle where I can live near other middle-aged people with kids and we can also hang out at home and drink while the kids play." Then start it, let's see how many posts you get against you like you claim. Go ahead and do it.

I bet you you won't get any backlash about that like you claim. Why don't you go ahead and start that thread and let's see.

This "double standard" or whatever it is, is IN YOUR HEAD.

You left out the American-born part, which is what makes it comparable. Of course nobody would give backlash over what you wrote. I can assure you the double standard is not in my head, and I gave you a real world example which affects people here in the Triangle.

Oh, my bad. Go ahead an add in the "American-born" part also. See what happens. This is the internet anyway, so nobody is happy with any post anyway, no matter how mundane it is.

Like I told you, my Greek family has married into Indian families and there are plenty of my family members who want to meet "American-born Indians, not the FOBS who came straight from India." They want to meet other Indians who were BORN here. That's their preference. Would anyone give the a hard time? I don't think so.

Try it out.
