Let me start off by saying I do not know alot about grass or sod. We had dormant 419 Bermuda sod laid in our backyard about a month ago by a landscaper. It has turned nice and green this past month with all the rain. I would like to throw down a little of the same Bermuda seed in a couple of spots that my children have worn out the grass right where their feet drags on the ground under their swings. I didn't realize they were wearing it away until it was too late. Now they know to be careful so they don't do it anymore but I need to throw down seed there to get some grass growing while it is raining so much so we don't have a muddy mess during the wet days. Does anyone know where I can I purchase Berumda seed. I don't want to call back the landscaper to pay them for such a small job and I know they won't do it for free. Thanks for your help!

Bermuda - Varieties

Quote:
‘Tifton 419’ and ‘Tifton 94’ are sterile hybrids, available only as sod. They produce no viable seed but a sprig will cover a 12-inch by 12-inch square in only one summer.
Looks like you'll either have to get a different variety of Bermuda or find plugs or sod of the variety you currently have. I have no idea where to find those, but hopefully this will at least help you narrow your search.

Previous poster was right on. You may be able to by 419 sod by the piece at some of the local garden centers as we get more into summer.
