Does anyone know where I can (definitely) get a rapid Covid test today or tomorrow morning in eastern Raleigh (or nearby) without an appointment? I’ve been to two places that didn’t have the rapid tests despite their website saying they did so this is getting to be a real hassle. Thanks.

I'm interested too- my in-laws are flying back to Puerto Rico on the 3rd and need a negative test that's less than 48 hours old. It looks like Radeas now requires appointments and all kinds of deets.

If a rapid test would be accepted by the airline and your in-laws don’t mind going to Durham, the Wake Toxicology in Durham gave me a rapid test on Thanksgiving day and there was no wait, and I got the results in less than 15 minutes. They should call first though to make sure they’re open on Saturday and that they have the rapid tests (some places have run out of them). It was a bit far for me to drive there so I was hoping to find a place closer to home.

No charge. My insurance probably covered it.

W also got a Rapid Antigen at a Wake Toxicology location recently. But be forewarned -- getting one there is entirely dependent on their inventory on any given day. You have a better chance right when they open but even then, they may simply be out of inventory.

On the news this morning they showed the newly-opened PNC Arena no-appointment site with 1/4 mile queues and 45-60 minute waits

Time to stop the useless testing requirements for schools, travel, work, etc. It’s clearly time to make the shift to testing only symptomatic people.
