TarheelNick is a Millennial and was referring to his generation, and I, as a GenXer, was poking fun at their participation medals.

Of which I can honestly say I never received.

My sister did get a couple in CASL though I believe. Mom was coach.

They definitely gave out green participation ribbons at the neighborhood swim meets. Heat winner was the goal if you weren’t in the main event, I think it was red. You’d get an actual place ribbon if in the main event (1st was blue). And at the end of the summer, everyone got a trophy. Of course the best got to go to TSA. So a bit choose-your-own-adventure, competitive if you wanted or egalitarian if you needed.

The fact that I had no idea what you were talking about until I googled it backs up my opinion that Xennials are a distinct generation. I've always felt like I was about 5 years too old to fully appreciate Paramore.

Not to "Gatekeep"...but the "official" definition of who is a Millennial seems too broad to me on both ends of the spectrum. Early 80's-late midish/late 90s?...Nah. The late 80s/early 90s babies; say '86-'93....that's the "pure millennial" range IMO.

And Paramore is fine and all but MCR is the REAL generation-defining headliner. FOB and Panic! being left out of the lineup is quite the disappointment.

Based on quite a few of the texts and social media posts I've received/viewed in the last 48 hours...sounds like the RDU-LAS flights for that weekend are going to filling fast.

So that many-fewer luxury-buying Millenials to compete with on listings that weekend!

Ya dude. 83 checking in here…none of the emo stuff resonates with me. My teen angst was RATM and Tool

I was told recently Incubus is emo…I laughed and asked if the person had ever heard S.C.I.E.N.C.E.

My entire adult life was spent this millennium. You’re not putting me in the Breakfast Club generation.

That's fair but how well do you relate to Superbad?

Can we compromise and say you're in the American Pie generation?
