Thanks for the info. So what's your bottom line impression? Sounds like a moderate who lives outside the beltway would do OK at St Tim's, but might feel out of place at St David's?
If you want to fit in at either school, you need to start calling it the beltline.

And like every Christian school, we have been part of around the Southeast, if you are going to get offended by your kid getting served Chic-fil-a at a sporting event, or at lunch, you should look elsewhere :-)
LOL Chik Fil A is a mainstay at public school concessions too. I've yet to see a protest.
When the fringe has become the core of the modern GOP, it is a perfectly valid concern. E.g., the official twitter account of the Republican National Committee today: https://t.co/8lanpKXO10
First, they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out —
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out —
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out —
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me — and there was no one left to speak for me.

I think the fringe of both parties has way to loud a voice - not sure how much of that is over-weighting Twitter (when 80% of adults do not participate) or reflected in real life.
Obviously at some point--hopefully in the very near future--masks and vaccines will no longer be the flavor of the week. But there will always be a new one. Obviously there's no perfect way to find out where a group of people fall on a political spectrum, but masks/vaccines are a pretty good proxy at the moment, and are also a topic that may get discussed somewhat more frequently at social gatherings. So yeah, it will be a non-issue soon, but I'd nevertheless be curious to know if there was a strong sense of support, disdain, etc., amongst the parents for the various covid protocols.
My guess is (based upon talking to people in other states/countries who are further along in this journey than NC) that a few months after mandates are lifted, it no longer becomes a hot button talking point.
It appears you are pro-mask/pro-vaccine/pro-mandate, so using your logic, people would put you on the left side politically (instead of moderate as you claim).
I fall right of center on the political spectrum (have moved from left of center as I aged). I am a strong believer in vaccines and allowing/supporting people who want to wear masks, but rejecting the one size fits all approach that mandates bring (especially with a non-sterilizing vax and data showing non mask-mandated areas fared about as well with Omicron as ones with mask mandates).
So is mask/vax opinion then a fair barometer to use to evaluate people?

yes totally agree as a moderate - if you spout anything on the conservative side you're deemed a Trumper or close-minded, if you spout anything on the liberal side, you're deemed a socialist. So I've just learned to shut up. Which is counter productive though because we do need more louder voices outside of the fringes but it's not worth it for me.
I could be wrong, but my impression is that they’re more “Country Club Republicans “ than neocon idealogues. At least when I had two neighbors that sent kids there. They were probably conservative but they weren’t the type to talk about it. That’s as the impression I got.
