hello. what are your thoughts on the schools in clayton?

I know from the threads that wake has been redistricting and such and although a good district many were not happy with the results of the redistricting so i opted out moving to wake county.

we are now considering clayton but I wanted some extra opinions.

TIA

I'm not sure of the age of your children, but I have a daughter that's close to entering elementary school. We live in Clayton now and we are getting ready to leave the area only because my commute is a little too far, but it was a toss-up for us to leave because when we checked greatschools.net, all but one of the Clayton elementary schools were rated very well.

I moved from Wake County to Clayton a little over a year ago. I refuse to have my daughter attend a school miles away when her regular school was just three minutes from my house.

I was actually quite surprised to find that I like the schools in Clayton ALOT better than the ones in Wake County. They seem more stable, not always nickel & diming you for every entertainer/field trip/extra fees every single week and the education itself is alot better (IMO). I dont think I would ever move back to Wake county. Dont get me wrong, they do have good schools, I just found the ones out in Johnston County (Clayton) are better suited for our family.

Good luck!
