Temporary renovation.

I wonder if anyone has seen or has plans to see these small exhibits running over the summer at the NC Art Museum? One starts today. I have already seen Faultlines. Interesting but no need to see it twice.

Also found this which I can’t seem to find on the exhibition list. Seems to be a historical perspective of the collection?

Before the TEMPORARY renovation we were walking in the sculpture park and on the trails then going into the museum. I’m trying to decide if we should go down for a walk and short visit.

Temporary renovation.

I do have plans to go see them - really interested in that historical perspective!

Usually when I go to that park I have my dog with me, so the museum is out. But since I renewed my membership I'd like to see what they've got during that renovation.

Faultlines is NOT free.

The second link I am not sure about but I don’t think it’s free either. The others should be free.

There is artwork on the outside of the west building AND the sculpture park that you can see at any time that the grounds are open. Please email the museum for hours.

I would call the museum or email help@ncartmuseum.org

On their website:

Please note: West Building is now closed through October 7, 2022, to complete an exciting reinstallation of the People’s Collection. During this time enjoy free exhibitions on view in East Building, indoor and outdoor events and programming, and the 164-acre Museum Park. We’re excited to welcome visitors back to a new Museum experience starting October 8, 2022. Learn more about this project.

Visit Fault Lines for FREE this summer! As we close West Building for the reimagining of the People’s Collection, we want to ensure North Carolinians and visitors can access as much art as possible between now and our reopening in October. No ticket or registration is needed; simply head to the exhibition entrance.

Thank you lottamoxie. Yes the website is the best place to look. I’ve found them pretty responsive by email.

Oh, wow! We were just there a few weeks ago, before they closed the west building. We’ll go back soon to see fault lines. I love free!

We saw Fault Lines two weeks ago and enjoyed it. Free. The Altered Environment was worth dropping in just to see the famous Desert Prada. (Google it.) To Be Rather Than To Seem filled in some gaps for me about the history of NCMA.

In short, the exhibitions are good if you're in the Triangle but I wouldn't drive a long distance just to see them.

The only thing I didn’t like about Faultlines was the one artist who would take drone photos then change the colors. If there was pollution and environmental damage why the need to change things. I know, THAT’S ART LOL but I think it was unnecessary.
