I remember from when Trump came to visit Morrisville and others - they close whole sections of 540 and 147. Biden just landed and I already see 540 and 147 closed for the huge motorcade.

Due to President Biden’s visit today, motorists should expect traffic delays and road closures between RDU and S. Miami Blvd from 12-4 pm. Areas affected include I-40 and 540, Page Rd, S Miami Blvd, and Chin Page Rd. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes

Here's an announcement of the traffic.

That's what happens when you live in a "swing state" haha (though I'd argue that NC is leaning red as of recent years)

I lived in Atlanta when Jimmy Carter was President, and expressway closures in the Atlanta area were routine.

My usual 45-minute commute from Chapel Hill to Knightdale took me 2 hours and 15 minutes.

I work off 54/55 and have to commute to midtown Raleigh, took me an hour...I left at 4PM. Usually a 25-30 min drive at that time. Huge PITA

I commute from Carrboro to Cary/Morrisville. I didn't notice any worse traffic than usual, but I usually take Mt. Carmel Church Rd to Hwy 64.
