I can’t blame the DOT. It seems like when they try to be courteous to those around a project it just ends up getting derailed. See the 105 project in Boone.
It’s NCDOT’s domain and they can do as they damn well please.
Got it, I stand corrected... No need to be unkind though. I hope you are having a great weekend.
Jackie only pointed out the mistake, how in the world was that unkind? Unkind would be to let you continue to believe you were correct and let you spread misinformation.

Yup - a proper article would have sought to get comment from Chapel Hill officials or staff or NCDOT on the staff.
Here the blog post takes a memo and tries to draw their own conclusions from it (a little dramatic with the "drop dead") without interviewing or attempting to contact any of the people involved on Chapel Hill or NCDOT's side
They even say in the first few paragraphs that from NCDOT's perspective:
Quote:
It’s a quick design that is intended to prepare cost estimates for the project, which are needed for the state long-range transportation funding program. Nothing is set in stone, and modifications can be made.
I wonder if there's an understandable reason for the alleged miscommunication. In any event, NCDOT's plan seems straightforward. Residents of Chapel Hill should remember that the roads aren't built solely for themselves.

I appreciate the correction, but it was clear that she was trying to mock me.
If it were me, I would have at least given the person the benefit of the doubt that it was an honest error (which it was) and not assume that there was nefarious intent: "spreading misinformation"
It seems to be a thing on these boards with some being uncivil and being mean-spirited.

I agree. I’m from Philadelphia and we have a reputation for being rude but the Triangle forum is wild lol I’m sorry you got jumped on OP and hope it doesn’t discourage you from posting on CD. I love hearing about places and issues in other areas and travel regularly as a nurse. I’m going to be in your neck of the woods later this month and hope people are civil when I make a small errors (bound to happen navigating around somewhere new!) Wish me luck on my visit and hope you have a great rest of the weekend!
