My boyfriend and I are looking to move to the Cary/surrounding area. I just graduated from college with a teaching degree (elementary). Any advise on trying to find a job working for Wake County School. I have been looking on the Wake County website and applying for jobs, but principals aren't replying and I'm afraid I'm not hearing anything because I'm out-of-state right now. We really want to move there, but can't until one of us gets a job. Please help with advise if you can.

I do not think that being out of state is an issue. They need lots and lots of teachers here. I have a friend who got a relocation package from Michigan to come here. Talk to your school to see if they have any programs available to find you a job here.

I believe the traditional calendar schools are still in session. It's down to the end of the school year, so the principles may be too busy at the moment to review applications. Just a thought.

Are you sure about that? Every accredited univeristy I've encountered has an office that assists with post-graduation job placement. You should check just to be sure. If nothing else, they might be able to look over your resume & see if it needs tidying. A few misspellings or grammatical mistakes can be enough to keep you from getting an interview.
