That seems to be par for the course for folks on this forum. How many rail against Durham, but have never lived there? Or Wake Forest, Fuquay Varina, or any other town? But somehow, it all devolves into a "the city I chose to live in is better than yours", or "your city has <insert an example> problem". It just isn't a healthy dialogue.

Moderator request: please don’t speak about this topic without first noting where you actually live. It’s misleading to anyone seeking info here if you live in Charlotte, rarely visit Cary, and lived here 3 months in 1993.

You should reread my request.

I said “TELL US WHERE YOU LIVE.”

Ex. “Hi, I live in Morganton, but I spend a lot of time visiting friends in Cary every few months.”

You can see how misleading it is if someone who lives in Altoona but only comes here to the Triangle once a year is in here talking like they have a house in DT Cary, right?

Also… I LIVE IN CARY. I have lived in Cary for 20 years and I lived in and around Wake county (Raleigh, Wake Forest, Knightdale, and Zebulon) for most of the rest of my years. With that said, I would not dare presume what life is like for residents of Zebulon now. I have not lived there since middle school in the 80s.

Hi, I'm a Bostonian with a second home in Greensboro and I spend a lot of time with friends in Cary and I know what life is like for them there because they tell me.

Maybe this thread should be locked? I live in a condo in DT Raleigh, South Florida, and grew up in Johnston County, btw.

I wouldn't lock it. We are all adults here.

We are also educated adults (mostly), so maybe we all should reflect it by leaving the emotion out of it and posting based on facts relative to the topic of the thread.

Agreed. But TunedIn was expressing an opinion, right or wrong, about what he/she thought. It did seem to rub some folks wrong. That's ok. Last I heard, you didn't have to live in Cary to express an opinion of Cary. That's true with America.
