It's absolutely ridiculous to allow a bar 1/4 a mile away to play music so loud windows rattle. It's 10:17 on a Sunday night. I called non emergency RPD #, 1 1/2 hours ago! Called 911 30 minutes ago! I was a bartender and bar Manager for over 25 years, this is unacceptable! They shouldn't have license to sell alcohol. Back in the day they would have LongBranch's permit. A.L.E. needs to revoke these bars permits! I'm so sick of the noise and drunks staggering off WakeForest Rd
Doesn't matter. What matters is the zoning. If they are zoned to be there, then they have a right to do as they please, within the legal limits.
Assuming the post above is correct, the noise ordinance don't go into effect until 11.
While I have full empathy for the OP, I think they are frustrated with the situation and the solution would have been to do their due diligence prior to buying the home, and/or to be at every meeting if the ordinance was changed after they purchased.
Agree, never call 911 for personal annoyances. Someone's life depends on 911.
Edit: This would not be a violation under the new proposal posted above, as nightime hours start at 11PM.
Prohibited noises per the proposed new rules:
Quote:
(c) The playing of any radio, phonograph, amplifier, television, stereo, tape deck, tape recorder, musical instrument, or similar device in such a manner or with such volume during the nighttime hours as to annoy or disturb the quiet, comfort or repose of any reasonable person in any dwelling, hotel, motel or other type of residence.
