Apex is far greater than Cary. Don’t quote me or @ me… I said what I said.

Sure, if you like traffic, tiny downtowns, and taco trucks

Much more character, more overall versatility, better festivals and events, better downtown, less vanilla.

You don’t follow directions! Lol

10 years ago I would have agreed. It's losing its character with all the building though, and Cary has gained character with the work on the downtown area.

Hate to say it but I vote for DT Cary over DT Apex these days. DT Apex is more "charming" (although S. Academy gives it a run for its money), but as far as amenities, restaurants, drinking spots, etc, Cary wins.

Fair assessment. I still largely disagree, but fair nonetheless. And I concur, DT Apex is definitely more charming.

Unfortunately the plans for TenTen widening have been pushed back and doubtful it will be done before 2033.

And a lot existing homeowners in the ETJ do NOT want to be annexed and contribute to Apex's coffers. So they can't count on that property tax revenue in whatever road development plans.

NC law has essentially prohibited involuntary annexation since 2012. For a city-initiated annexation, the property owners must vote in favor of it. ETJ boundaries aren't relevant in this context, except that city-initiated annexations must be contiguous.

Correct. Currently Ten Ten project has no $$$$$$$ allocated 'til 2033.

Which is a major shame. From Penny Road into Apex someone is going to get killed. Speed limit is too high, oil tankers battling high speed traffic, motorists driving straight in turn only lanes resulting in near head on collisions, whole lot of stupid,.
