It's sad to see what has happened to Apex and what is going to happen. It's not the small town I knew anymore

It's really more than just that IMO. There isn't a place in the triangle area that will or should feel like a small town anymore. That is probably an unfair standard at this point.

But the lack of infrastructure around Apex is going to make it borderline miserable to live in and amongst for the foreseeable future. Completely different situation from Cary, for example, who has for the most part weathered the growing pains through great town planning and the obvious benefit of more time to deal with the growth.
