My husband and I finalized our date to move down to Raleigh in March. Does any one have any wisdom to impart on selecting a mover. We're moving from the north shore of Massachusetts and have heard scams aplenty!!!
Mover recommendations are welcome!

We used United 3 1/2 years ago when we moved down from Mass.

No complaints, they packed us up and arrived exactly when they said they would. No lost or broken items, move went as smooth as a long distance one can.

Don't know if you have moved a lot (we have) so you may know all this already but I would get a "not too exceed quote" and pay for the insurance. Only trouble with the "not too exceed quote" is I have never seen it "fail to reach the not too exceed price" , that being said, at least you know your cost upfront.

Good luck

My sister recently moved here from new hampshire and they did the POD thing. They loaded one of the PODS, and had movers load the other one. Then they arranged for movers to move everything from the PODS into their house here. They seemed to like that, and it was just about as expensive as regular movers.

Default movers

I've used Mayflower twice for both packing and moving. No problems! Moves were always from house to house, no storage in between.

Good luck from a fellow New Englander.

Try

http://broadwayexpress.net/

Can save you a ton of money as long as you pack and unpack. Regular freight company that is very reputable. Way better than PODs and half the price.

Smile Thanks!

Thank you all for your input. My husband and I have found movers more frustrating to research than anything else. Good luck to all of you!
