Another Rhode Islander ?? She must have had an unmistakable accent.....like me! What area do you live in?? I might even know her...RI is PRETTY small! I'm in Cary, near High house and Davis.

I'll add to the stories! Soon after moving to Cary my husband and I joined the Prestonwood Country Club. I started attending the 6 am aerobics class and befriended one of the more sociable "regulars" and her husband. I saw her at least three days a week for more than a year. Then one Thanksgiving I was talking to my husbands Aunt in Lexington, SC and she asked me about my workout schedule. After sharing the details of my 6 am classes at Prestonwood, she said that she and her husband were very good former Navy friends with a couple who are Prestonwood members that she still stays in nearly weekly contact through emails. Turns out they are one and the same couple! For a full year, I was seeing her old Navy friends in person. What a pleasant surprise I brought back from SC that following Monday morning!

There are a ton of New Englanders here! If you're from a state adjoining RI, it could only be CT or MA. This is really ironic because I met two of my neighbors yesterday, one is from CT and one hails from MA ("Woostah" to be exact!). Why weren't my neighbors as friendly up north??

if she has a funny accent then it has to be MA unless it's Northern CT - otherwise they sound like they are from Brooklyn (no denying a NY accent).

BTW what's so funny about saying "I pahk my cah in Harvahd Yahd so I can go to Cheeahs for some beeahs and lobstah"? hahaha

I ran into a girl I went to high school with in the Netherlands at a Circuit City in Dallas TX a few years later. Small world indeed.
