HI, i'm new to this, but im trying to make up my mind between moving to Raleigh or Orlando(fl). i would really appreciate some in sight from those who live or have lived in the area for some time. I am a Puerto Rican 21 year old, and im not sure if Raleigh is really my "scene" i have an old high school friend who lives there but would like more insight from others on the culture of the city, i am used to urban environments being from the northeast, and i really like cultural pursuits, anything from opera to book clubs, i am also a recent college grad looking for work as a paralegal, is Raleigh a good market for this? also since im pretty young, please tell me the city has a nightlife?!?
ps. if anyone knows how is crime out there?
THANKS to anyone who answers!

I was born here...lived here for 25 years. The city is getting more and more diverse. A large and quickly growing hispanic community (more so Mexican and Central American than Puerto Rican). You'll have to come down and visit. It is urban, but also suburban...and very sprawled out. You can get your more urban environment if you live in Downtown Raleigh. Many areas are quite nice and there is a lot of growth downtown as well. Raleigh is a capital city so there are many law firms here and also many state and county courts. You shouldn't have trouble finding a position...but a heads up that there are a lot of colleges here so there may be some competition. The nightlife is good and getting better. The Glenwood South area of town as well as city market and the Warehouse district are some areas to check out when here at night. Crime is not bad here. Comparable to many cities its size and smaller...this is a fairly safe area.
