Has anyone ever gone to the boat casinos in Mrytle Beach, SC? It would be a closer location than Cherokee, NC from Wake Forest and from reading previous posts sounds like a better "atmosphere." Just wanted to know what the commute time was and what the casino experience was like say compared to AC or Mohegan Sun??
We recently came back from Myrtle Beach. A group of our friends, including hubby, went on one of the casino boats. I chose to go shopping with another group of friends! Smart move on MY PART!
The casino boat folks had a rough time. They said the boat was very rocky and thus quite a few were seasick. They also thought being out to sea for 5 hours was way too long. Many of the people did not like the smoke. Even though the boat was 3 or 5 floors, they said that there was smoking on every level.
I went on this several years ago when I took my grandparents (in their 80s) and my mother (in a wheelchair). We didn't get seasick, but everyone else did. This turned out to be a good thing for us because people were very rude and pushy in staking out their machines (they were too sick to play so we got to play more machines). The food was horrible with the buffet they provided. I would choose Cherokee over the casino boat myself. It also helps that I won $1600 last time I was there on the $1 slots.
