I would like to get an honest imput on how Latinos in general are viewed and treated in this city. Would most employers pick a Caucasian over a Latino with the same qualifications? Would a Latino with a college degree be able to find a decent job in Raleigh?

I think you will find Raleigh to be a good place for you. There are people from all over the country and the world here becasue of the plethora of jobs available at the research triangle park, and the numerous colleges and universities, NC State, Chapel Hill, Duke to name jus a few... Often when I walk around Lake Lynn I overhear people speaking in many differnet languages. Everything from spansish, german, chinese, and french. The sad fact is that I think you will never find a place that is 100% free of discrimination, that being said I do not think it is rampant in this area.

Default Discrimination

I think Raleigh/Durham is full of diversity. My sister worked in IBM there and there were all kinds of people. Also, IMO I think that minorities get hired before whites any day of the week. Especially in large corporations where quotas live. You'll be fine good luck.

If you are bi-lingual folks will be begging you to come work for them (without or without a degree).

No area is without prejudice....and yeah, and I do think that with all the media reports of illegal immigration you are a few outspoken idiots that are more comfortable expressing it. (My friend, who is from Mexico, was recently called a 'wet back' for the first time in the 27 years she's lived here.) But overall, I don't think Raleigh is worse then any other, and in many ways, is actually quite diverse and accepting.
