I know a few recent recommendations have been made for a few auction houses that specialize in furniture, but I'm looking for more. Any auction companies that sell "anything and everything" around the area? I like to buy art, collectibles and such. Years ago I attended auctions quite religiously and had to step aside for a while as they can become quite addicting. Now that I have my addiction under control, I would like to check a few locals out.

I've mentioned Hoy Auction in furniture threads, but they primarily sell estates and as such they sell a lot of collectibles and some art (depends on the estate). I've been there several times and it is a lot of fun. I'm also aware of Mebane Auction, but haven't been there. I believe they are also auctioning estates.

I don't know if this has been mentioned in the previous thread but check auctionzip.com. You can search by zip code and category and keywords.

Have fun!!!

I'm Sarah Boesveld, a reporter from a national newspaper in Canada hoping to speak with people who love going to auctions for the thrill of bidding other people down. Also looking for people who've ended up with stuff they don't want because they're addicted to auctions. If you can help, could you contact me at 416-585-5133 or sboesveld@globeandmail.com?

Thanks!

I had to take a step back too. I haven't been to an auction in over a year, but I used to go to a Mebane auction house and a Four Oaks auction House. Leland Little in Hillsborough is nice too, they have a lot of high end art pieces. You can google any of the names and it will take you to their websites. Have fun!!
