my daughter took a cooking class through the parks and rec system, I do think that the other cooking type classes are for older kids (at places like mixing bowl, etc)

I had posted a list of cooking schools a while back in this thread:
//www.city-data.com/forum/ralei...g-classes.html

But I'm pretty sure that Leigh is correct that most start at an older age. I know A Southern Season has classes for age 7 and up; I bought my niece one a couple of years ago and she loved it. So you may need to just plan for the future!

I've seen this place advertised, but it says it starts at 6 years old. However, there is a Parent/Child class, so maybe you'd be able to go with him to that? It's worth a call.

Default Go to Classy Kids Cook in Cary

If you are looking for a great cooking school that is just geared to children, try Classy Kids Cook. They are great! They are located in Cary and teach etiquette class as well as cooking. The owner & head instructor, Tessy, is wonderful with the kids and has a unique gift of creating a fun and friendly environment. This is great place for kids that are either just beginning to learn their way around the kitchen or are experienced culinary artists. Either way they have something to offer everyone.

What we did first was to attend one of their monthly FREE introductory classes to see what they were all about. Once we saw what a great facility and a fun time our kids had we enrolled them in a week long track-out camp.

You can check out their schedule at their website. classykidscook.

I am going to a parent and child class this weekend and signed my son up for the Iron Chef kids in a few weeks - sign up for one of the free classes soon as they fill up really quickly. I will update you on the experience after this weekend
