Where can I take my kids to see fireworks for the fourth....We dont want to be right in the middle of the action somewhere we can see them from a little ways away...One of my kids doesnt like the big booms..back In CT we used to go to a school yard where we were about a mile away from them and that was perfect is there anywhere like that?? In Raleigh?? We are near the knightdale side of raleigh...
I haven't been in Raleigh for the 4th in ages. But for the fireworks at the State Fairgrounds, you used to be able to go to Meredith College. You could see them just fine - but you weren't too close.
Just wanted to bring this thread back. Any good Ideas where to take the kids12,9,6 and 6 for the 4th to see the fireworks..doesnt have to be raleigh just somewhere not to far away!!
The fireworks at the state fairgrounds in Raleigh are the largest show. You can sit across the road in the parking lot around Carter Finley stadium and still see them fine, but without the big "booms" if that upsets your children (and it's relatively quick getting out from there - you can scoot out by the RBC Center). There are lots of fun things for kids to do in the evening before the fireworks - rides, crafts, etc.
It's not on July 4th, but Morrisville is having a fireworks display on July 3rd at the Morrisville Community Park. I think that you could park at Morrisville Elementary and watch them from there.
Wake Forest had fireworks last year. I don't know about this year, but maybe check the city website. I just called the town of WF and they are having there fireworks at WFRHS on July 3. You park at the Seminary. Admission is $5 pp, kids 6 and under free. You can buy a family pack of tickets 5 for $20. They will have a band there, magician, and vendors set up. It starts at 5:15PM on July 3. http://www.wakeforestnc.gov/2009cent...4thofJuly.aspx
