Check Travelocity or Priceline. There are at least three airlines with flights under $300 listed for those dates.

I'd book your flights soon, though. Prices are only going to increase, with the rise in gas prices.

Just keep checking back. Several websites can alert you when a flight drops below a certain specified price. We fly back to Denver at least twice a year and never pay much more than $200, but I constantly check prices until something pops up.

Use kayak - it will search multiple sites for you at once (orbitz, expedia, and the airlines websites)

Over 300 on that route is not as ridiculous as you think - airfares have gone up a ton.

The only airline kayak does not search that serves Denver is Southwest - check that one just at southwest's site.

  • itasoftware.com then use qpx to search flights. The only airlines they don't cover are jet blue and southwest. Check those separately.
  • Check on tue and wed nights around midnight - that's when fares are released that had been on hold previously.
  • Be willing to fly early or late, and be willing to fly off days of the week.
Good luck!

From the way I see it, Southwest Airlines has a nonstop for $139 each way. I don't see if getting much better than that. They just opened up that direct flight. Good luck!

We took the Denver Southwest nonstop price in June, I would grab the 139 each way. Thats probably the best you will get. The flight we were on was packed and it was close to 600 a person about 1 month before.

You could also check flying into Colorado Springs. It's only an hour drive north into Denver. Depends on what part of the Denver you're trying to get to.

Try Southwest Airlines. The leg to Denver will run about $129 with taxes, etc. The return leg cost will depend on when you want to fly. Combined, it should come out under $300. As an added benefit, Swouthwest still lets you check bags for free (up to two), and even provides drinks and snacks.
