Sony Ericsson is laying off 2,000 people globally and there are about 750 here in the Triangle. You may want to wait to transfer AFTER the layoffs are done.

Yea, I heard about that.
I won't be transfer after all of that though - I'll be heading to Raleigh starting on the 1st of August. Oh well. Still worth a shot, I guess.

The good thing is that you are coming from a well known company. Depending on what segment you work in you should be able to (if not already) find some good work. What do you do (if you don't mind me asking)?

Totally don't mind. I can use all the help/advice I can get.
I work for Sony Style so I work for the retail side of Sony at this point. So I've sold every product that Sony makes.

I'm pretty sure that their facility here is primarily R&D.

As far as I'm aware, it is.
I was thinking entry level, obviously.

I moved here from Dallas 2 years ago and work for Sony Ericsson in R&D (software). PM me and I'll give you all the info you want. I came here after working at Nokia for 7 years. There are about 15 guys here from Nokia's Dallas office. . . . all have come here within the last 2 1/2 years.

Well the only experience I have is in sales so I don't know where I would fall really. Working on my degree but not quite there yet.
