Hi all,

was wondering if anyone new of a site that had reviews of area restaurants, nightlife, Communities, etc. a site where new comers can go to find out the best of the triangle. prefer if it was user based ratings and reviews. Every time we visit a community i go to this forum to see what you all are saying. it would be easier if i can go to a site and click on "amberly" for example and get user reviews, videos, etc.

I don't agree with all the picks, but every year the free local newspaper (Independent Weekly) conducts a reader's poll and counts up the votes to crown "the best of" for many different categories. While I don't always agree with the winners, in general it is a good place to start for people getting to know the area. You can pick up a free copy of the Indy Weekly all over the Triangle are or you can check out the 2008 Best of list here

That reminded me though! Didn't we have a thread on here where we noticed that there were a lot of chains in the best list and a lot of us disagreed?

Yep, that's it but I don't agree with half of the winners in there! We had a good laugh about Mac's Tavern being voted the best place for singles in Western Wake one year.
