I have my flood insurance bill due. It is for $348.00. I purchased it when I bought my house, as I wanted to cover myself in case there was a flooding issue I did not know about. I am not in a flood zone. I am up higher than most surrounding areas. I have never had anything close to a small flood. Should I cancel the policy and go without or should I keep it, as I have not experienced a heavy tropical storm or hurricane yet? What do people normally do for flood insurance in this area?

Keep it. Many areas flood only rarely, but do you want to risk it?

I would keep it, my State Farm agent laughed at me when I wanted to take out flood insurance, I am not in a flood area either, but what's that saying "you never know"...
