You're talking about the street of that name, right? I think it's in the Sunset Valley subdivision.

yes!! i guess i should have been more descriptive in my post. thanks for responding. ever been down that street or in that area? we're thinking about moving there. i am going to take a look on saturday but thought i'd ask around for opinions as well. my husband was there yesterday and saw no sign that read "sunset valley" so i wasn't sure if it's actually considered a subdivision or not.

I honestly don't know much about it either, but hopefully now that the topic has been bumped up higher, more people can weigh in.

I drove through that neighborhood a couple of times last year during my house hunt. I saw a couple of homes I really liked on great, gorgeous, wooded lots. Unfortunately the homes I liked weren't for sale. I can't remember much else, though. For instance, I'm not sure if the neighborhood has an HOA or not, but I suspect they don't. From what I remember, most of the houses looked like they were built in the '60s or '70s but there were a few new construction homes sprinkled in there, too.

Oh, the "one that got away" or was never to be or whatever, for us was on Hamstead Ct. What a lovely street. I love all those trees. The house that we looked at (way back in Spring of 07) was over priced and they would not consider coming down. So we moved on. Of course the house ended up coming down substantially. It was still on the market as of Spring 08. But I don't see it on MLS now. We were looking at a kitchen redo. But I loved the lot. And on days like today when I'm frying with my no trees on the western side of my home I'd love a lot like those on Hamstead.

My only concern (which I never substantiated... since we could not get past price) was I wondered how many kids were on that street that were close to my children's ages. But that's a gamble no matter where you move.

Good luck with your search. That's such a great area. Close to Southpoint. Close to Downtown Durham. Established but yet quiet.

thanks PDXmom. that is one of my concerns as well, wondering if there are any young children living on the street. my husband and i are going to take a drive out there on saturday and perhaps we'll see some children out and about. maybe we can knock on someone's door and ask some questions! i have a 2 year old and a 5 year old so being on a street with other young families is important to us. thanks again.
