One of the easiest (or fastest) ways to get used to a higher temperature is to simply force yourself to go without AC for a couple of days and nights when it's in the mid-upper 80s here and upper 60s at night. Open your windows and let the outside air and all the humidity come in. Do the same in your car. Then, the AC set at 80 will feel quite nice.

Just one problem with that theory. For those of us with allergies, we can't have windows open and breathe. Especially overnight.

Being from NY...I like it cooler..LOL! I had two stipulations for my southern husband if he wanted me to move to NC
1. A pool
2. Don't bug me about the AC cuz I'm not gonna be sweaty. I could probably get away with 73-74 at the most...after that I start melting!

Ceiling fans will let you set the A/C at least 5 degrees higher with the same comfort.

Learned this working for the electric utility in New Orleans.

Students on average who are at work and school spend about $50 to $70 through out the year in electricity depending on comfort zone and windows.

I am looking for an estimate of how much it would cost for a 620 sq foot apartment. It will be in New Hope Raleigh.

Ya, just what I was thinking. Gotta look at the date that your Goggle search came up with.
