I knew it would only be a matter of time before this was posted here so I thought I would just go ahead and be the one to do it!

"Which metro area has the higher per capita income, Durham or Raleigh-Cary? The Bull City – and that’s no bull, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis."

If you just read the headline, but not the article, you might miss the definition of the Durham MSA and the Raleigh-Cary MSA:
The Durham MSA includes Durham, Orange, Person and Chatham counties. The Raleigh-Cary MSA covers Wake, Franklin and Johnston (in other words, they're not comparing Durham to Raleigh and Cary).

When will we stop using the word "surge". I am really getting tired of it.
Perhaps we can bury it in the in the virtual cemetery along with "Where's the beef?", "Baby on board", "Dy-no-mite", and others....

Thumbs up The Whole Triangel is a "Winner"

I think the most useful information was in the last paragraph. It said that personal income total for Raleigh MSA was 40.5 billion and Durham MSA 18.7 billion. It of course is due to population differences. But I think this gives us an idea why sometimes, SOME (not all) city governments outside of Wake County have a tougher time paying for everything that would improve their cities.

But the best info was that personal income for Raleigh MSA grew at 8.7 percent and personal income for Durham MSA grew by 8.4 percent. This is excellent news especially considering the current economic times.
