We do not belong to a countryclub, but I'm wondering about competitive tennis in Cary? Also, maybe moms soccer or other sport competitions for non pros (track events?)

A somewhat related question: the ropes courses at Bond Park. Has someone experience with this, and do you absolutely have to have a group to participate? I really want to do this but it's just me, no team-building exercise like with a group. Though I'd join any group to do the ropes course!

For tennis, you may want to check out the Challenge Ladder mentioned here:
Cary PRCR-Cary Tennis Center (http://townofcary.org/depts/prdept/parks/tenniscntr.htm - broken link)

Here is a PDF of sport leagues by the town:

A second recommendation for the Cary Tennis Park - it has multiple ladders, teams and competitions that you might find enjoyable!

You can also get a lot of info off the Western Wake Tennis Association Web Site. Competitive tennis is tons of fun in this area. You won't regret it.
