Dickerson's Fencing & Landscaping just finished our fence. We waited maybe 4-5 days for their quote and then a few more days for the supplies to arrive. They finished the fence in 2 days in the worst heat & humidity. We are happy w/the work they did. (Dickerson Fencing & Landscaping - Durham, NC) Pictures
I also got a quick, on the spot quote from Gibson Fence & Window 598-6646.
All the companies I called wanted me to give them sqft and they gave a quote based on that over the phone. Not one asked to come measure (including Seegars which was much higher in price than any other place). In the end we picked the cheapest quote. I called about 8 days ago, materials were delivered Tuesday and they are actually in our backyard right now building the fence. Next Generation Fence I believe is their name. Our fence was a standard 6' dogear wood at about 230' with 3 gates. They were right on time this morning.
My neighbor a few doors down has a fencing company. He put up a fence for me about 7 years ago and it's still in great shape. If you are still looking give him a call. He's in Raleigh near the Leesville exit off of I-540.
that's just wrong. but it isnt just here. we had the same issues with contractors in chicago. there must be so much business out there that they dont have to have any customer service. ugh.
Fences Unlimited did a great job on our fence, and the finished product actually ended up being $800 less than the quote (because they came out and did a quote before I had my survey done which changed things a bit). They were fast, neat, and did a quality job.
Next Generation Fences
One question I have is if building a fence in one day as he claims to do is such a great idea why is he virtually the only fence company in the country who does it on large fences. I have been told by other fence companies, that they generally won't built a wood fence in one day unless it is a straight fence with no corners. Reason is even a small unseen crack in the concrete can cause major problems later. Now he will swear up and down that is not the case, but do you want to trust he will be here in business tomorrow?

I just had a fence done, got two quotes, both companies were generally good with getting in touch when they said they would. I was very happy with the finished product. PM me if you want the company name.
