I'm going to enjoy what I'm expecting to be a $500/mo air conditioning bill... I might frame the damned thing or stick it on the fridge

Something tells me you'll still have that air conditioning on in December!

I should explain further with saying heat like today around here, not 125 degrees.

My cat is from MN and loves the heat. My dog is from NC and hates the heat.
What's wrong with this picture?

I love air conditioning! However, my favorite time of year is Fall. Today feels like fall. It smells like fall. So...I have the a/c set on 74 (it hasn't come on) and a few of my windows open! Ceiling fan above my head is going and I'm getting my office cleaned up! It is like heaven here! Shhh...don't tell hubby. It freaks him out when I have the A/C on AND windows open!!!

Tabby, I don't think you will have a $500 monthly AC bill, unless you're planning on buying a BIG house! We have a large house, and someone is here 24/7, so we keep the air fairly comfy, usually about 74 or 75, and our bill is not anywhere NEAR $500 a month.

Oh, and we are accustomed to Michigan weather, too! Coming up on our 1 year anniversary here in NC!

AWESOME! Momma needs a new pair of shoes! ;D

We bought a 3000 sq ft house, which isn't huge but is bigger than I'm used to. I'm lucky though that there's air conditioning settings on both floors, and we basically just stay upstairs (I work from home so I live in my office), so I only really set the top level... so that should help
