Is this one of those places with lots of arcade games, beer and bad food? There was a place like that in the Warehouse district, even had beach volleyball, etc. but after the buzz wore off, people stopped going. It closed years ago.
OMG! That would be great! I went to the one in Pittsburgh. Come to think about it, I actually have a gift card for them. Gift cards kill me because I always forget about them.
We had 2 in Dallas. I went to the one on Stemmons many many many times. . . . OK. . . let's just say "frequently" for happy hour back in the early 90's when I was single. They had fantastic pool tables and the billiards area was classier than a normal pool hall. The restaurant served fairly good bar food (not there's an oxymoron for you) and they always had the newest video games. Our company used to also take us there for team building days. A place like this would fit into Streets at Southpoint easily. Not sure why one isn't there already.
I prefer the Player's Retreat. Chains just make us less Raleigh and more anywhere USA. I find Generic America gross. I do my dead level best to spend locally. BTW-We live in Five Points and are not hippies. To each his own. If I visit Pittsburg, or Cleveland or Buffaloe I am going to find the local favorites. That local vibe is what makes each place unique. Olive Garden is the same in Boise as it is in Knoxville. BTW-Northside Billiards at the corner of Whitaker Mill and Wake Forest has been there since the late 60's. A local, no frills place to drink a few, shoot pool, play poker or blackjack and make friends. Much different than Dave and Busters.
As other have said, we've had Jillian's and that has come and gone. I do think Dave and Buster's is a step up, but I think the only franchise of this sort that would do well here would be an ESPN Zone.
