The alarms went off at Duke Med. Ctr in Durham today around 4pm....stating a tornado warning. Patients and staff were moved away from windows. A short while later it was cancelled. Thank goodness!
Huge loud thunder starting up here in Cary now. I'm talking shaking the walls. Keep in mind people, this weather is new to me. I'm rather enjoying the show so far, although I do have water coming up through a crack in my garage slab. Not a flood, but a few gallons. I went for a drive today and the sky was erie. The clouds were blowing up and down and to the west at about 40 mph. Then this huge dark cloud came swooping down right at me like Dr. death himself and began swirling, but never formed a funnel. Then within an instant, it began to rain so hard it was like being under water. This old boy has never seen weather like this. It's interesting, I'll say that.
