We usually take the back way to RTP every day (Sedwick to Alston to Triangle Drive), so we don't often see business happenings between NC 54 and Sedwick along NC 55.
However, it appears that Durbar 84 has closed. Did anyone see anything about this in any of the recent newspapers?

Is than an Indian restaurant? Never heard of it before.D
Yep! It closed! There is a new one in the next shopping center over near Pizza Hut. I cant remember for the life of me the name of it, but it opened right around the same time dunbar closed.

I stopped in Williams today, which is in the same strip mall as Durbar, but at the other end. It'll be opening in about 3 weeks and will have gourmet sandwiches. They'll also stay open into the early evening (unlike many other restaurants in that area that are only open till 2PM). They're owned by Carolina Ale House. Williams is by Massey Brothers car repair on Hwy. 54 near Hwy. 55. Looks like another good option in RTP for lunch.
Hah - yeah its Baba Ghanouj or something along those lines, definitely mediterranian foodies.
Thats it! Someone told me it was Indian, but when I drove by, there was a huge sign that said, "Mediterranian". ha ha!
Big difference.
Still, its something different for the area so I cant wait to try it. There's also a new Greek restaurant where KFC used to be and some gourmet sandwich shop thats opening. Its in that restaurant off to the side from Big Lots that never seems to last more than a couple of weeks. Hopefully this place will stand a chance!

Hey Ferrick, I've seen the Greek place as well. I read something somewhere that right now, Zorba's Grill is open for lunch only, but it will be open for lunch AND dinner in early September -- I forget the exact date, but it may be as early as next week.
I just tried Baba Gannouj two days ago and it was decent. I think buffet was $9 though. that didn't include a drink. It was near the end, so the guy had mercy and made me some fresh chicken kabobs, which were awesome! The $9 is steep enough for me not to visit very often. But the food was pretty good.

Then I drive by and see Zorba's or whatever. I think their sign said "buffet" on it, so maybe Baba's will get some competition! Haven't been in to Zorba's yet.

Sad to see Durbar go. Their fresh nan bread dipped in that butter chicken sauce was so good. And they were always very friendly. But there is still that other Indian buffet down south a bit, near Sarah's Empanadas.
