I just got back from Taylor's Wine Shop in North Raleigh, which is located on Six Forks road just north of I-540.

The wine shop is located in a BP Gas Station. That's right ... and it is awesome! Great selection of wine and beers at decent prices (They even have Big Boss Beer). They sell Larry's Beans coffee too! If you are in the area and need to pick some wine up on the fly this is a great place to stop. The staff are very friendly and helpful too.

What a great place. A true hidden Gem of North Raleigh!

We purchased an "organic" wine there last night. My wife swears it doesn't give her a headache the next day!

That place is great. I found a few wines I've been looking for (Like Fess Parker Frontier Red!). They certainly have more than just the run of the mill selection.

Your wife doesn't get headaches with any organic wine, or just a particular brand? This, I've gotta know!

We love Fess Parker too.

I stopped by Taylor's on my way back into town last night from NJ to pick up some wine. I discovered they will be hosting a free wine tasting this Thursday evening (March 19) from 6-8pm. I think in the past they have had as many as 75 people show up. Sounds like a good time!

If you are in the area I suggest you check it out.

Fess Parker is great, I actually got to tour the winery with his son Eli who has been running things. Really nice guy. If you can ever get your hands on some of the Pinots, they're awesome. A little bit of trivia, if you've ever seen the movie Sideways, when he makes the big scene in the Frass Canyon winery, that is actually at Fess Parker.
