Today my wife and I took a quick stroll through the Sarah P Duke Gardens. This is without a doubt one of the best gardens in the Triangle Area and a great way to spend the afternoon. Admission is free but you do need to pay for parking @ $1 for 30 minutes although I was able to snag a free spot to park out on Anderson Street!

A visit to the Gardens is definitely a "kid friendly" activity as I saw lots of children there. While it can get hot being out in the sun on a warm day, there are plenty of places to sit and take a rest in the shade. There is even a small cafe located in the gardens to grab a bite to eat or buy a cold drink. I would check the website, but I think dogs on leashes are allowed as I saw a couple there today. Hours of admission, maps, and other general info about the Sarah P. Duke Gardens can be found here: The Sarah P. Duke Gardens

Thanks for sharing these, NRG. I have been wanting to go there. I want to go with hubby and my MIL, so we will probably have to wait a little later in September when hopefully it will cool a little.

As always, very nice photos!

I think they'll be open tomorrow. The visitor center won't be. You don't need it though.

Check it out in the Spring. That gazebo will be covered with purple wysteria, which has the most intoxicating scent! And the pink and white dogwoods are everywhere too, not to mention the typical Spring flowers. It's even more beautiful then...

Great pics, NRG! I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and share a few pics from the end of March this year. I'm not much of a photographer. But I don't think you can take a bad pic there!
